Key information
Analogue has unveiled refreshed versions of its retro gaming hardware, the Super Nt Plus and Mega Sg Plus. These systems feature a reworked industrial design and utilize FPGA processors to replicate original 16-bit Nintendo and Sega Genesis console functionality without relying on emulation.
The updated consoles introduce integrated wireless connectivity, supporting both Bluetooth and low-latency 2.4GHz connections for controllers. Additionally, the hardware now includes USB-C ports for power and USB-A ports for peripherals. Users can also remotely power on the devices using a primary controller and hot-swap game cartridges without needing to fully power down the system.
While these units offer modern connectivity, they do not support 4K output, remaining limited to 1080p resolution. This distinguishes them from the Analogue 3D, which provides 4K capabilities for Nintendo 64 titles.
Preorders for both the Super Nt Plus and Mega Sg Plus open on October 19th at 9AM PT/11AM ET. Each console is priced at $219.99, with shipping scheduled to commence in December.
