The recent Triple-i Initiative stream featured 40 independent games during a 45-minute presentation. Among the highlights were several new announcements that caught the attention of Polygon staff, ranging from sequels to experimental genre titles.
Amanita Design revealed Machinarium 2, a sequel to their 2009 puzzle adventure, which continues the series' signature hand-drawn art style. Meanwhile, developer 12AM Blackout introduced Jiaohun, a psychological horror game described as a surreal experience, and Critical Reflex announced the immersive sim Militsioner, where players must evade a giant police officer.
Other notable reveals include Lazare’s Sacrifice, a card-battling game developed with Gwent creator Damien Monnier that depicts the French Revolution. Additionally, Glass Head Dolls is working on Prison of Husks, a Soulslike title designed with a visual aesthetic reminiscent of PlayStation 2 games, and Strange Scaffold announced Gods With Badges, a turn-based strategy game focused on themes of policing.
Militsioner is currently scheduled for release next year. These titles join other anticipated projects like The Talos Principle 3 and Pony Island 2: Panda Circus, all of which are available for users to add to their Steam wishlists.
