Gust officially confirmed that Atelier Karia will feature dynamic body shape changes for the protagonist, Karia. Players can toggle these adjustments on or off, or choose to lock the character into a specific weight and appearance throughout their playthrough.
The game allows Karia to become slimmer or fuller based on an eating mechanic. Users can maintain her default look, allow natural fluctuations, or fix her model to a preferred state. An infographic and screenshots demonstrate these variations across story scenes, exploration, alchemy, and combat, with the options menu potentially offering eight distinct body types.
This feature stems from an official survey where over 38,000 global respondents participated. Results indicated that 78.9% favored the inclusion of body shape changes, while 62.76% requested the ability to lock a specific appearance. Additionally, a food tour short story received 16,037 votes.
Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories is scheduled for release on February 25, 2027. The title will be available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Switch 2.
