Waku Waku Games has officially announced its role as the publisher for the extraction shooter Haruo-kun. This title is currently under development by the indie circle Moyashi Giken.
The game is set in a submerged world where players navigate abandoned facilities to scavenge for supplies. Gameplay involves expanding exploration areas and upgrading equipment to survive in a high-difficulty environment described as having a grim narrative.
Haruo-kun features a distinct science fiction atmosphere, highlighted by unique mechanics such as using Morse code to unlock doors. Players encounter surreal environments, including corridors lined with torii gates and glowing stone lanterns.
The publishing partnership was revealed during the Waku Waku Games Communication October 2026 live stream held on October 16, 2026. While the Steam store page for the game was not ready at the time of the announcement, it is expected to be published soon.
