The narrative centers on the Eldia Islands, where players must investigate a series of strange phenomena. Accompanied by a growing roster of companions, players explore labyrinths to uncover the truth behind a mysterious curse. Gameplay involves forming parties from recruited allies and gathering crafting materials or unidentified rare items during expeditions.
Between dungeon dives, players can utilize a camp system to rest, cook meals, and strengthen bonds with their party members.
