Sega and Creative Assembly have temporarily removed Total War: Shogun 2 – Complete Edition from sale following significant player criticism. The project, intended to update the 2011 strategy title, was available for only two days before being pulled from digital storefronts.

Players reported severe performance issues and technical failures. Furthermore, users criticized the game's visuals, alleging that the developers utilized artificial intelligence to upscale images, resulting in poor quality and inconsistencies such as characters appearing with six fingers.

The release garnered an Extremely negative rating on Steam, with only 19% positive reviews from over 2,000 submissions. In an official statement, the companies acknowledged that the product failed to meet their own standards and player expectations.

While the game is currently unavailable for new purchases, existing owners retain access to the title. Sega and Creative Assembly are investigating the reported issues and working to restore the original game, though no specific date for the return of the Complete Edition has been provided.
