Key information

On October 16, 2026, Steam launched a new feature called Achievement Sets within its client beta. This update allows developers to categorize in-game achievements into specific groups based on themes or purposes, such as single-player, multiplayer, character classes, or downloadable content.

The system introduces individual progress bars for each set, effectively separating base game achievements from DLC content. Base game sets feature blue progress bars and trophies, while DLC sets appear in purple only after purchase. This ensures that players maintain their completion status even when new content is added, preventing existing completion percentages from dropping.

Developers can now archive achievements, which helps manage seasonal or limited-time content. Archived items do not interfere with completion progress if left unearned, though previously unlocked achievements remain visible on user profiles. Additionally, completing a full set rewards players with a commemorative trophy.

The achievement page has been redesigned to display global completion rates, set-specific filters, and progress comparisons with up to three friends. While currently limited to select titles, this update aims to provide a more organized way to track and record gaming milestones.
