Electronic Arts and Bit Reactor have released update 1.2 for the turn-based strategy game Star Wars Zero Company. Following its release on August 27, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, the title has reportedly sold over one million units and generated nearly 50 million dollars, according to Alinea Analytics data.

The update introduces highly requested campaign customization options designed to increase the game's challenge. Players can now modify fundamental rules when starting a new campaign, including injury thresholds, permanent death probabilities, health progression, and unit synergy bonuses. These settings are available across all difficulty modes.

Beyond these difficulty modifiers, the patch includes technical improvements and balancing adjustments for weapons, crews, and facility upgrades. Ergonomic enhancements allow players to rebind the reinforcement call function, while the developers also addressed various bugs affecting cinematics, dialogues, and general gameplay mechanics.

Gamekult previously identified the game as a tactical success in their review. The developers noted that while these new options allow for a more punitive experience, they recommend that players first experience the game using default rules in Normal mode before applying these significant modifications.
