Sega has opened pre-orders for the SONIC THE HEDGEHOG DNA FIGURE, a special item commemorating the 35th anniversary of the Sonic series. Produced by Tokyu Agency, this limited-edition collectible is available for order through the official Sega Store Online until November 1, 2026.
The figure represents a new form of bio-art toy that incorporates synthetic DNA technology. By analyzing Sonic’s physical traits, personality, and abilities, developers designed and synthesized a unique DNA sequence representing the character's core identity. This synthetic DNA is encapsulated within a Chaos Emerald element positioned inside the figure's chest, intended to provide a tangible connection to the character's legacy.
The product is priced at 3,000,000 JPY (excluding tax and shipping) for domestic customers, while international buyers can purchase it for 20,000 USD (excluding tax, shipping, and customs duties). Each unit includes a serial number to denote its limited nature.
A physical prototype is currently on display at the SONIC the Exhibition -ACROSS GENERATIONS- held at the PARCO FACTORY in Ikebukuro PARCO. The exhibition, which runs until November 1, 2026, showcases the history of the franchise, including development materials, music, and new artwork from 16 creators.
