Square Enix announced new features for Dragon Quest Monsters 4: The Dark Prince's Bianca and Flora on the 16th. The title supports cross-platform play, allowing users to engage in various online activities once they progress through the main story.
The new online co-op mode lets players tackle giant monsters in daily or event-based missions. Participants can communicate via message commands and provide support to boost damage and healing output. Successful co-op sessions offer rewards and the chance to obtain monster eggs for recruitment.
Beyond co-op, the game features Master Ranking matches across seven tiers, private custom matches, and asynchronous battles against uploaded teams. Offline, the arena hosts seven-tier tournaments. Players can also unlock a roguelike challenge called the Path to the True Monster Master, which requires winning 50 consecutive battles using monsters provided by a mischievous spirit.
In the roguelike mode, players can synthesize monsters between rounds to strengthen their team. While these specific monsters and items cannot be transferred to the main adventure, earned Master Points can be spent at a dedicated shop. The game is scheduled for release on December 3, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
