Key information
Cygames has launched a Steam demo for Hōraku no Kuni, the debut title from its CygamesEdge brand. The game follows a soldier who encounters a forbidden child after the world's surface becomes polluted, prompting a journey from the branches of the World Tree toward the ground.
The core gameplay mechanic involves controlling descent by reading wind currents and managing landing points. The Steam demo, available as of October 16, focuses specifically on this falling element through a challenging, high-difficulty stage that lasts approximately 15 to 30 minutes.
While the demo emphasizes mechanical difficulty without narrative content, the full version will feature a more accessible difficulty curve. As the story progresses, players will unlock additional actions, reflecting the developer's focus on world-building and narrative depth.
The full game is scheduled for release on November 5 (Thursday) for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam, priced at NTD 198 or HKD 59.00. The title is designed as a condensed experience, with the main story expected to take roughly 3 hours to complete.
