Key information
Developer BeXide has officially launched an open playtest for its upcoming multiplayer hide-and-seek game, Cat and Paste!. The title supports between 2 and 16 players and is currently available for testing on Steam. The playtest period began on October 16 at 18:00 and is scheduled to conclude on October 19 at 16:00 JST.
In this game, players take on the roles of cats or hunters. Cats can copy and paste various objects from the environment to disguise themselves, even changing the colors of these items to blend in or create elaborate traps. Hunters utilize tools like hammers to clear objects and rifles to chain-reactively remove fakes, attempting to identify the hidden cats.
The game features two distinct modes: Hide-and-Seek Royale, where all players start as cats before switching to hunters, and Hide-and-Seek WARS, which functions as a tag-based team mode. Additionally, the full version will include an Edit Mode, allowing users to place objects freely to create custom stages.
Participation in the open playtest is free for anyone with a Steam account, and BeXide encourages players to share feedback via their official Discord. While the playtest is currently live, the final release date and pricing for the full version remain unannounced.
