Independent developer Steph Thirion and publisher Annapurna Interactive have announced that the action game Faraway is set to launch on November 5. The title is the latest project from the creator of the classic indie game Eliss.
Players control a meteor that must extend its fleeting life by creating constellations. By connecting stars, users gain energy and accumulate points. The gameplay features procedurally generated levels, allowing for infinite replayability as players navigate an ever-changing universe.
The game emphasizes simple rules and fluid controls designed to be accessible for newcomers while offering depth for those seeking mastery. Beyond the core mode, the developer included 16 handcrafted star puzzles that challenge players to utilize different perspectives and advanced techniques to progress.
Steph Thirion spent over ten years developing the project, which combines minimalist aesthetics with real-time visual and auditory effects. As players improve their skills, they can fly faster to climb global leaderboards and tackle increasingly difficult challenges within deep space.
