BANDAI SPIRITS announced that a new store, THE GUNDAM BASE SHIBUYA, will open at Shibuya PARCO on November 20. The location features a unique concept tailored to the Shibuya area, incorporating local culture into its design.
The interior includes neon signs and large LED screens displaying original videos that blend Gunpla with the city of Shibuya. Additionally, the space features a mobile suit bust in the center and collaborative graphic art by designer Toku Yokoyama, which reimagines classic Gunpla package art by Naochika Morishita.
A dedicated area called SHIBUYA COLLECTION will rotate 15 different Gunpla models every month. This selection will include rare items that are not typically found at other retail locations.
To manage expected crowds, the store will implement entry restrictions via a lottery system from its opening date through November 30.
