Key information

Atooi has announced that the cult horror game Dementium 2, originally released for the Nintendo DS in 2010, is arriving on Steam. This remastered version of the first-person survival horror title is scheduled for release on October 20.

The game follows protagonist William Redmoor, who awakens in a psychiatric hospital following a mysterious brain operation. Players must navigate the facility and its surroundings while uncovering the truth behind his imprisonment and the murder of his wife, all while battling nightmarish creatures.

This remaster introduces several technical and gameplay adjustments. Players can experience the game in up to 4K resolution or opt for a lower setting to mimic the original pixelated aesthetic. The interface has been redesigned for a single screen, now featuring a minimap. Additionally, users can toggle between modern and classic flashlight lighting, and choose to disable enemy-proximity music to heighten tension.

Core mechanics remain focused on first-person exploration, puzzle-solving, and combat. Players manage inventory and weapons while navigating the environment. A notable feature is that defeated enemies do not respawn, allowing for safer traversal of cleared areas.
