Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026. Initial concerns suggested the title might miss The Game Awards 2026 eligibility window due to its proximity to the event date.
According to the official FAQ on The Game Awards 2026 website, games must be released by Friday, November 21, 2026, to qualify for consideration. This deadline confirms that the Rockstar title meets the necessary criteria for nomination.
Should the game qualify, it could potentially compete in numerous categories, including Best Narrative, Best Action, Best Game Direction, and Game of the Year. There is speculation that the title might dominate the awards ceremony if it achieves significant success upon launch.
