Key information
Toei Animation announced that the 39th episode of Detective Precure, airing October 25, will feature a special Halloween crossover with Ojamajo Doremi. The four main characters will dress as the iconic Ojamajo Doremi cast, with promotional visuals illustrated by character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi.
The collaboration utilizes the setting of 1999, the year Ojamajo Doremi originally premiered, as a narrative bridge. Producer Soiya Aramaki noted that while the two series possess distinct worldviews, the 1999 setting of Detective Precure allowed for this unique integration. Within the episode, Ojamajo Doremi appears as an in-universe television show rather than through direct character cameos.
The plot follows the protagonists as they prepare for a local Halloween event. The story takes a turn when a villain disguised as a witch steals a magical broom, prompting the detectives to change their own costumes to avoid detection while pursuing the culprit.
Merchandise related to the collaboration begins sales on October 16, with additional items scheduled for release between December 2026 and February 2027. Furthermore, Bandai will distribute limited-edition collaboration cards at Japanese retailers starting October 24, contingent on the purchase of specific Pretty Holic products.
