Developer 3DClouds has officially unveiled AFTERZERO: The Last Run, a narrative-driven driving game set in a world consumed by an endless winter. The title is scheduled for release in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Players navigate a collapsed civilization using an off-road vehicle named Old Grizzly, accompanied by a drone companion called T3DDY. The core gameplay involves exploring industrial ruins, frozen lakes, and snowy mountains to gather essential resources like food, medicine, and heat sources to survive the harsh climate.
Survival mechanics require players to maintain camps and upgrade their vehicle with specialized equipment such as grappling hooks, ice tires, and nitrogen guns. During expeditions, users must manage dwindling supplies while deciding how far to push forward through storms and night cycles. Additionally, players must hack or exploit bugs in ancient AI-controlled machinery to progress and uncover the truth behind the world's downfall.
The primary objective is to assist other survivors and repair a train to reach a sanctuary known as Sunniland. As players interact with the environment and other survivors, they will gradually uncover the secrets of the catastrophe and begin to question the true intentions of the AI systems governing the wasteland.
