Digital Lighthouse Games unveiled its debut psychological horror adventure, Encryption, during the Galaxy Gaming Showcase. The narrative follows a father named Leonardo searching for his missing daughter, Arianna, amidst wildfires in the ancient city of Matera, Italy.
The gameplay is a first-person cinematic experience blending exploration, stealth, and puzzle-solving. Players must navigate the desolate, fire-ravaged streets and underground areas of Matera while evading shadow-like entities that track movement through sound.
To achieve high visual fidelity, the developers utilized proprietary 3D laser scanning and photogrammetry techniques. Studio head Adriano Bizzoco stated that these technologies, combined with motion capture and Unreal Engine, allow for an immersive recreation of Southern Italian architecture and landscapes.
Encryption is scheduled for a 2027 release on PC. Interested players can currently add the title to their wishlist on Steam to receive future updates regarding its supernatural mystery and narrative-driven gameplay.
