Publisher Formirai and developer Spectra Motif Studio have released a Steam demo for the rhythm adventure game Morpho Reverie. The title blends visual novel storytelling with rhythm-based gameplay, focusing on a competition between humans and AI replicas.
The narrative follows protagonist Rain, who enters a music competition hosted by the corporation Aether alongside childhood friend Kiva. After Kiva disappears, Aether introduces an AI replica named Kiva Alpha, leading to a forced artistic confrontation between human and machine. Players can choose the protagonist's gender and utilize an Auto Play mode if they are unfamiliar with rhythm games.
The demo includes the first chapter of the main story and 11 playable tracks. Notable inclusions are three collaboration songs from the Diverse System AD:PIANO series, such as Sakuzyo’s Piano History. This 10-minute piece depicts 250 years of piano history and features dedicated visual effects that shift alongside the music. Other contributors include composers like ARForest, BlackY, and onoken, alongside a theme song performed by voice actress Madoka Yonezawa.
Beyond the main campaign, the demo offers an exclusive, fully voiced side story set in an alternate world where characters possess supernatural abilities. The game features a voice cast including Aoi Ichikawa, Shion Wakayama, and Kaito Ishikawa.
