Independent studio 3DClouds has officially unveiled its upcoming survival driving and exploration title, AfterZero: The Last Drive. The game is scheduled for release in 2027 across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
Set in a world devastated by an event called Frostfall, players navigate a frozen wasteland using an upgradeable off-road vehicle named Old Grizzly. Gameplay involves scavenging for resources in abandoned cities and frozen lakes, utilizing tools like grappling hooks and EMPs to overcome environmental hazards and hostile AI.
CEO Francesco Bruschi described the project as a significant shift for the studio, highlighting its oppressive atmosphere and challenging campaign. He noted that the blend of exploration, puzzle-solving, and base management creates a unique experience compared to their previous work.
Players must assist survivors at a base called Firewall by providing essential supplies like food and medicine while repairing a train. The ultimate goal is to reach a mysterious sanctuary known as Sunnyland. Interested users can currently add the title to their wishlists on platforms including Steam, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store.
