On October 16, Steam announced the launch of the Steam Achievement Sets feature, currently available in beta. This update refreshes the achievement page, introducing new organizational tools for players and developers, including the ability to compare progress with up to three friends.

The new system allows developers to group related achievements into sets, such as base game or DLC categories. Players can view these in organized lists rather than a single long feed. Each set features its own progress bar, and completing a set grants a trophy on the user's profile, which remains even if new achievements are added to that set later.

Developers can now archive achievements that are no longer obtainable, such as those from limited-time events. Archived achievements remain visible for users who already unlocked them but are hidden from those who have not, ensuring they do not interfere with completion goals. Additionally, the Steamworks achievement editor has been overhauled to support bulk imports and developer-only test sets.

To access these features, users must participate in the Steam client beta. Titles such as Against the Storm and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 are already compatible with the new system.
