Grand Theft Auto 6 is officially eligible for the Game of the Year category at The Game Awards 2026. According to the event's updated FAQ, titles must be commercially available by 9 p.m. PT on Friday, November 20, to qualify for consideration.
The game is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, placing its release exactly one day before the cutoff. Conversely, the PC version of the title is reportedly slated for release during Q1 2027.
Nomination remains uncertain, as a jury of over 100 media and influencer outlets must play the game before voting concludes. Rockstar has maintained strict security regarding leaks, leading to speculation that reviewers might be restricted to closed, in-person events rather than receiving early access copies.
While insider NateTheHate suggested that review copies could be distributed before the end of October, neither Take-Two nor Rockstar has confirmed these details. The ceremony is set to occur on December 10 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
