Key information
Q-Games announced it will publish the cooperative horror title Beyond the Dark: Night Watch in Japan and other Asian regions. Developed by Atlantis Studio, the game is scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 22, priced at 2480 yen including tax.
The game features asymmetrical two-player cooperative gameplay where participants take on distinct roles as either an explorer or a monitor. The explorer navigates a mansion from a first-person perspective to solve puzzles, while the monitor utilizes security cameras and tactical tools to guide their partner. Success requires constant communication and observation, as neither player possesses all necessary information to escape the mansion.
Players must evade a mysterious entity known as the Gloom, which is attracted to loud noises. The difficulty is significant; according to a trailer, over 100 people have attempted the game without a single successful escape. The project features contributions from actor Troy Baker and composer Oscar Araujo.
Beyond the Dark: Night Watch supports local and online play. It also includes an 'osusowake' communication feature, allowing users to play with others who do not own the game on Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch hardware.
