Hisense has introduced its second-generation RGB Mini-LED technology through the new UR-series lineup. Following the release of the 116UX model last year, the company is now offering this technology at a more accessible price point. Ahead of Black Friday, Best Buy has reduced the price of the 65-inch Hisense UR8 RGB Mini-LED TV from $2,000 to $1,099.99, including free shipping.
The UR8 utilizes red, green, and blue LEDs directly, eliminating the need for color filters found in traditional Mini-LED and current OLED displays. This technical shift allows for a wider color gamut, improved color accuracy, and reduced banding. According to the report, these advancements result in richer colors and smoother gradients, particularly when viewing 4K HDR content.
Beyond color performance, the UR8 offers increased brightness levels compared to OLED alternatives, making it suitable for bright environments. The display also provides wider viewing angles for group settings. For gaming, the unit features a 180Hz native refresh rate and HDMI 2.1 inputs, which the author notes are designed to pair seamlessly with the PlayStation 5 for 4K gaming.
This discount is currently available via Best Buy as part of early Black Friday promotions. The UR8 represents a significant expansion of Hisense's RGB Mini-LED offerings following the debut of their 116-inch model, which previously retailed for $20,000.
