Control Resonant has officially surpassed one million copies sold, establishing itself as the fastest-selling game in Remedy's history. The title reached this milestone in only three weeks, significantly outpacing the two-month record previously held by Alan Wake 2.
The studio celebrated the achievement on October 15, with communications director Thomas Puha describing the performance as a strong start. This success occurred despite the game being cracked and pirated following its digital launch in late September.
IGN awarded the game an eight out of 10. Reviewer Michael Higham praised the inventive world-building and the humanization of its paranatural elements, though he noted that the combat's sharp edge eventually dulls and the story follows a standard framework.
Financial prospects for the title remain positive as physical editions have recently launched. Furthermore, the game's reception prompted some internet users to purchase the title rather than pirate it, citing a desire to support the developer's future.
