Control Resonant has officially surpassed one million copies sold, establishing itself as the fastest-selling game in Remedy's history. The title reached this milestone in only three weeks, significantly outpacing the two-month record previously held by Alan Wake 2.
The achievement occurred despite the game being cracked and pirated following its digital launch in late September. Remedy communications director Thomas Puha acknowledged the milestone on October 15, 2026, describing the performance as a strong start for the studio.
IGN reviewer Michael Higham awarded the game an eight out of 10. Higham praised the inventive world-building and the humanization of its paranatural elements, though he noted that the combat's sharp edge eventually dulls and the narrative follows a standard framework.
Financial prospects for the title remain positive as physical editions have recently launched. Furthermore, some players on piracy forums expressed intent to purchase the game legitimately to support the developer, citing concerns regarding the studio's financial stability.
