Developer House House announced on October 15 that its multiplayer adventure game, Big Walk, will not be released on Xbox platforms. The studio clarified this decision following numerous inquiries regarding a potential Xbox version since the game's initial release announcement.
The decision stems from the studio's support for the BDS movement, which calls for boycotts against Microsoft due to the company's provision of cloud and AI services to the Israeli military amid the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict. House House stated they will not bring the title to Xbox until Microsoft is no longer a target of this boycott.
House House acknowledged that this choice contradicts the game's core intent of being played by friends and expressed regret for the disappointment caused to players who lose the opportunity to play on that platform. The studio noted that they would prefer to make the game available on Xbox if circumstances change.
Big Walk, which supports up to 12-player cooperative play, is currently available on PC, PS5, and Nintendo Switch 2. The game features open-world exploration and puzzle-solving through communication and gestures.
