Milly Alcock has deleted all photographs and messages related to the character Supergirl from her Instagram account. This action has sparked widespread speculation among fans that the actress may have been dismissed from the role by DC.
Observers noted the absence of these posts on Thursday. Specifically, Alcock removed an image featuring the book Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow and a January 2024 message expressing gratitude toward James Gunn. Her profile currently displays a Vogue magazine cover and several older videos, though the actress has not issued a public statement regarding these changes.
The development follows poor box office performance for the Supergirl film, which earned 126.4 million dollars globally over 40 days, marking the lowest total for a DC project. The title also underperformed on HBO Max compared to releases like The Flash, Blue Beetle, and Black Adam.
While the character remains part of the plans for Man of Tomorrow, scheduled for July 9, 2027, rumors suggest Warner Bros. may minimize her presence in promotional materials. The studio reportedly intends to prioritize the Superman portrayal by David Corenswet and the Lobo character played by Jason Momoa.
