The Division 2 has introduced its seasonal Halloween content through the Red Moon Unleashed event. Running until Tuesday, November 3rd, the update invites players to combat moon cultists while sporting thematic masks designed for the spooky season.
Combat encounters feature the lunatic modifier, which increases enemy damage and fire rates. While these foes are more dangerous, they explode upon defeat. Successfully eliminating enough cultists can trigger the appearance of one of three unique bosses, each offering distinct loot pools.
Players receive a free mask just for logging in. Additional rewards, including spooky gear and the named Lichtenberg M1A marksman rifle, are obtainable by spending currency earned from bounties and enemy kills. Furthermore, the community can unlock extra items by reaching specific gathering milestones.
Accompanying the event is a patch that implements various bug fixes and balance changes for the Escalation and Conflict modes. Notably, the update provides a 20% ammunition capacity increase for both rifles and marksman rifles to assist players against the heightened threat levels.
