Razer has officially unveiled the Barracuda V2 Pro, a new multi-platform wireless gaming headset designed to transition seamlessly between desktop, console, mobile, and handheld environments. According to Barrie Ooi, Head of PC Gaming Division at Razer, the device aims to provide a single, comprehensive audio solution for gamers throughout their entire day.
The headset features 40 mm TriForce Bio-Cellulose drivers and supports THX Spatial Audio+ on PC, which provides 7.1.4 virtual surround sound. For connectivity, it utilizes Razer HyperSpeed Wireless for low-latency performance and includes a SmartSwitch button to toggle between 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth. Users can also maintain simultaneous connections to handle calls or music while gaming.
Designed for portability, the Barracuda V2 Pro weighs 285 g and features a foldable, lay-flat design. It incorporates Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation and an AI-powered dual-mode microphone system, which switches between a detachable boom mic for gaming and internal beamforming mics for mobile use. The battery is rated for up to 70 hours of usage.
