At TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, Bluesky announced an expansion of its Attie platform, introducing tools that enable users to build websites, games, quizzes, and polls. This initiative aims to democratize the creation of interactive experiences, allowing everyday users to develop content previously restricted to software developers.
The new features facilitate what CEO Toni Schneider describes as social vibe coding, shifting the focus from solo development to collaborative creation for communities. Users can integrate their own AI models or utilize open-weight options to build these projects, which are then linked to their existing atproto identities.
A key advantage of the platform is its integration with the AT Protocol, allowing created content to leverage Bluesky’s established distribution network. COO Rose Wang noted that this solves the common challenge of finding an audience for new projects, as the platform connects directly to the network's 47 million registered users.
Attie serves as an experimental space for Bluesky to test AI-driven concepts. Looking ahead, the company plans to support private data, currently in alpha testing with a projected rollout by the end of the year, to further encourage small-scale social interactions among friends.
