Iceflake Studios has announced Park Adventures, a new expansion for Cities Skylines 2 scheduled for release by the end of 2026. This DLC allows players to construct diverse leisure spaces, including zoos, amusement parks, and nature reserves, with flexible building options that avoid rigid area constraints.
Beyond the paid content, the developer is implementing a comprehensive rework of the base game's leisure systems. These updates, which will be available to all players regardless of DLC ownership, aim to improve how citizens select and interact with leisure destinations.
The updated simulation moves away from simple distance-based decision-making. Citizens will now consider factors like park quality, crowding, and queue lengths when choosing where to spend time. Additionally, new 'Divert logic' allows residents to interact with props like benches while traveling, adding visual personality to the city.
Iceflake Studios emphasizes that these changes aim to make leisure an active experience rather than a static destination. By allowing citizens to visibly queue for attractions or interact with their surroundings, the team hopes to transform the city from a statistical simulation into a more vibrant, lifelike environment.
