Key information
Tyler Bahl, the lead of marketing at Activision, recently stated that GTA 6 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 are the most significant games of 2026. While offering an apology to Nintendo and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Bahl emphasized that these two titles will likely drive console engagement.
According to Bahl, the enduring success of the Call of Duty franchise is rooted in its social experience and community. Activision's internal research indicates that the ability to play alongside friends is considered more exciting by players than the core combat or gameplay mechanics themselves.
Regarding potential player migration when GTA 6 launches on November 19, Bahl noted that he prefers to wait and observe the actual impact. Meanwhile, technical details reveal that the PlayStation 5 version of Modern Warfare 4 requires over 150 GB of storage space.
Activision also expressed a belief that the media often fails to properly value the development work invested in the Call of Duty series. Additionally, the company plans to introduce a feature allowing players to hide bizarre skins in Warzone to address user fatigue.
