Actor Olivier Richters, currently cast as Zangief in the upcoming Street Fighter film, has publicly expressed a strong desire to portray the character Tyr in the live-action God of War series produced by Prime Video.
Richters, who stands over seven feet tall and weighs more than 150 kilograms, previously auditioned for the role of Kratos. He reached the final stages of the casting process before the role was ultimately awarded to Dave Bautista.
The actor believes his physical stature makes him a better fit for Tyr than Kratos, noting that his height of 2.18 meters might make him stand out too much among other characters. His agent has formally communicated his interest in the role to the production team.
While his involvement in the God of War project remains uncertain, Richters is currently focused on his role as Zangief. He is actively training to master the character in Street Fighter 6, with the goal of competing in tournaments as the definitive version of the fighter.
