IO Interactive has officially scheduled the release of 007 First Light for the Switch 2 on March 18, 2027. This version of the title faced multiple delays after originally being slated for a May 2026 launch alongside other platforms.
The Switch 2 edition features an exclusive preorder incentive not available on any other platform: the GoldenEye Suit. This cosmetic item replicates the specific attire worn by Pierce Brosnan in the 1995 film, notably including a distinctively oversized tie.
The inclusion of this specific outfit acknowledges the historical connection between the GoldenEye franchise and Nintendo, referencing the iconic 1997 N64 title. This exclusive content serves as a nod to that legacy.
Prior to the upcoming Switch 2 launch, 007 First Light has achieved commercial success with over 4 million copies sold. While IO Interactive manages development for this release and a new fantasy project, the studio has faced staff layoffs following the withdrawal of Xbox funding.
