Key information
Ubisoft has announced a new reorganization plan that includes the proposed closure of its Finnish studio RedLynx and significant staff reductions at its Singapore location. The company cites economic factors as the primary driver for these structural changes.
The proposal to close RedLynx, which is known for the Trials series, would impact 52 employees. Ubisoft stated that the studio is not currently working on any new projects, making closure more economically viable. Because of Finnish labor laws, the decision is not final and must undergo mandatory consultations and negotiations with staff.
In Singapore, Ubisoft confirmed that 70 positions are being cut, a figure corroborated by reports from VGC and Mediacorp. This reduction may represent up to 20% of the studio's total workforce. Ubisoft Singapore, established in 2008, has previously served as a support studio for Assassin’s Creed titles and led the development of Skull and Bones.
Beyond these studio changes, Ubisoft is implementing a reorganization titled Creative House 2, consolidating studios in Montréal, Paris, Sweden, and Toronto under Massive Entertainment. Additionally, the company confirmed that Rainbow Six Mobile is scheduled to shut down in January 2027.
