On October 22, FuRyu launched a free demo for the roguelike action game CRYMELIGHT on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. This trial version allows players to experience the entire first chapter of the game, which is estimated to provide between 1.5 and 3 hours of gameplay.
The game follows Alice, an amnesiac girl trapped in a purgatory called Wonderland. To earn her freedom, she must participate in a lethal competition against the Queen's army. Players utilize various combat maneuvers, including standard and heavy attacks, dodges, and grabs, while navigating through stages.
A core mechanic is the poker-inspired enhancement system, where players select skill cards after battles. These cards offer stat boosts, and forming specific hands increases the effect levels. Additionally, players can permanently upgrade weapons and accessories using the sins and dying words collected during combat.
Following feedback from the Steam demo, where 55.6% of players found the story mode difficult, the developer is adjusting the difficulty for the full release. Other improvements include enabling continuous dodging and enhancing visual effects in adventure scenes. The full game is scheduled for release on November 5.
