Capcom has officially announced that a Prologue Demo for Monster Hunter Wilds will arrive on the Switch 2 worldwide on October 19, 2026. This trial version provides players an opportunity to experience the game's introduction ahead of the full release.
The demo allows for local multiplayer testing, a feature highlighted for this specific version. However, the trial does not include online multiplayer support, which is reserved for the final game. Additionally, the Photo Mode is excluded from this demo.
Functionally, this version remains consistent with the demo previously released for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Players can create save files during the trial, which are compatible and will carry over to the full game upon purchase.
The full title is scheduled for a Switch 2 release on December 4, 2026. While pre-orders via the eShop begin on October 19, 2026, the purchase option is currently inactive. Furthermore, the Ascendance expansion is confirmed for development, with a multi-platform launch expected in 2027.
