Strange Scaffold has officially announced El Paso, Elsewhere 2, a sequel to its 2023 vampire shooter. The new title continues the story of protagonist James Savage, who is betrayed and trapped in a monster-infested Void. The game is currently scheduled for a 2027 release on Windows PC and Xbox Series X.

The sequel retains the original's low-poly aesthetic and slow-motion combat mechanics, though it introduces significant gameplay changes. Players can now utilize a vampire double jump for increased verticality, and Savage’s healing method has shifted from pills to a glass stake mechanic. The arsenal has also expanded to include weapons like a stake-firing Tommy gun.

Director Xalavier Nelson Jr. describes the sequel as having a broader scope, moving beyond the original's motel setting to include diverse environments like swamps and abandoned towns. While the first game featured 50 levels, the sequel will focus on 20 distinct, idea-driven stages. Notably, Savage’s iconic trench coat has been removed due to technical bugs.

A free PC demo is available now ahead of Steam Next Fest, allowing players to experience the updated mechanics firsthand. The project, supported by a collaboration with publisher Frosty Pop, also sees the return of the satirical in-game radio program, Pill Cop.
