Key information
Developer House House has officially confirmed that its co-op title Big Walk will not be released on Xbox platforms. This decision stems from the studio's adherence to the Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement, which has designated Microsoft and its gaming division as priority boycott targets.
The studio acknowledged that this choice conflicts with their goal of enabling groups of friends to play together. House House expressed disappointment regarding the situation, noting that the game will remain unavailable on the platform until Microsoft and Xbox are removed from the BDS boycott list.
The boycott follows reports from last year alleging that the Israeli military utilized a specialized subset of Microsoft Azure to store intercepted telecommunications data in Gaza and The West Bank. These revelations prompted employee protests and the subsequent inclusion of Xbox in the BDS campaign.
House House stated that this action is driven by the belief that collective efforts can challenge powerful interests. The developers encouraged interested players to review the BDS campaign's documentation and related media to understand the reasoning behind the boycott and its potential impact on Microsoft.
