Key information
On October 14, Microsoft announced the Xbox Nano Controller, a new compact gamepad designed for younger players, individuals with smaller hands, and those seeking portability. Priced at 49,99 dollars, the company describes it as their smallest controller to date, offering a more affordable alternative to the standard model.
The device measures just over 12,7 centimeters in length and weighs 99 grams. Despite its reduced size, it retains 18 standard buttons and introduces a programmable action button for shortcuts like video recording and screenshots. It features an integrated rechargeable battery and supports both Bluetooth and Xbox Wireless connectivity.
Microsoft notes the controller is particularly suited for cloud gaming. While the company has indicated that future cloud play time limits may eventually require additional payments for some users, specific details regarding these costs or usage caps remain unannounced.
Pre-orders for the controller are currently available, with a market rollout scheduled for November in select regions. Microsoft plans to expand availability to further markets later, noting that pricing may vary by country. The launch is supported by promotional bundles offering two months of Game Pass Ultimate for new subscribers who purchase specific Samsung TVs or Meta Quest headsets.
