Mob Entertainment has officially released the early access version of Escape from Playtime as of October 22. This title serves as a spin-off to the popular horror franchise Poppy Playtime.
The game features cooperative survival horror mechanics for up to four players on PC via Steam. Participants take on the roles of Smiling Critters to explore the abandoned Playtime Co. factory.
Gameplay involves using proximity voice chat to coordinate with teammates while evading roaming failures. Players must locate and transport specific materials requested by a mysterious voice. While the store page lists a four-player limit, an open beta test conducted in early October supported up to eight players.
The current early access build includes eight characters, one starter area, and multiple primary enemies. Developers anticipate a one-year early access period, with plans to implement performance improvements, bug fixes, balance adjustments, and additional story content for the full release.
