The official team behind the travel game World Quest announced the termination of its service on October 21. This decision follows the discovery of a critical vulnerability within the PHP software utilized by the game's server.

Management stated that because the game operates on an outdated infrastructure, they are unable to implement sufficient security measures to address the flaw. Consequently, the developers chose to end the service immediately to prioritize the protection of user information.

World Quest allowed players to explore over 100 countries using various modes of transportation like buses, trains, and airplanes. The game utilized OpenStreetMap to provide access to both famous landmarks and lesser-known locations, aiming to simulate a realistic travel experience.

Beyond navigation, the game featured interactive elements such as souvenir shopping, photography, and conversations with local residents. These interactions often included quizzes and information about tourist sites, which the developers intended to help players learn about different nations while feeling as though they were visiting in person.
