Publisher Shochiku announced that a free demo for the point-and-click adventure game Moomin: Moominsummer Madness is available on Steam starting today, the 15th. This trial version allows players to experience the first chapter of the six-part main story.
Inspired by Tove Jansson's work, the game follows the Moomin family after a flood hits Moominvalley while they await Snufkin's return. Players control Moomin and Little My as they explore a mysterious theater filled with costumes and scripts, solving puzzles within a hand-drawn world to find their way home.
The title supports a wide range of languages, including Japanese, English, French, German, Spanish, Swedish, Finnish, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Korean, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
The full game is scheduled for release on November 12, 2026, on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. While the Steam demo is currently live, a trial version for the Switch platforms is planned for a later date.
