Key information

On October 21, Microsoft initiated an early test for a new Xbox Cloud Gaming access model. This program allows Xbox Insider participants who are not currently subscribed to Xbox Game Pass to purchase specific blocks of streaming time.

The system functions by letting users buy time packs to stream compatible titles on supported smartphones or PCs without installing them. Participants can choose between 10-hour, 25-hour, or 50-hour increments to access the service.

Pricing for these packs is set at 3.99 dollars for 10 hours, 7.99 dollars for 25 hours, and 11.99 dollars for 50 hours. Microsoft positions this as an alternative for casual users who do not require a continuous subscription.

Users must still own the specific cloud-compatible games they wish to play, as this purchase does not grant access to the full Game Pass library. While some free-to-play titles are supported, it remains unclear if Japan is included in this test or what local pricing might be.
