Key information
Developer House House has confirmed that the cooperative puzzle game Big Walk will not be released on Xbox. The studio stated that this decision is directly linked to the ongoing BDS movement, which lists Microsoft and Xbox as boycott targets.
The studio expressed regret regarding the exclusion, acknowledging that it prevents some players from enjoying the title with friends. House House stated that they intend to keep the game off the platform until Microsoft is removed from the boycott list, citing a belief in the power of collective action.
The BDS movement includes Xbox as a target due to Microsoft's partnerships with the Israeli government, specifically involving the use of Azure Cloud and AI systems. The movement has called for boycotts of various Microsoft products and services, including Game Pass and major gaming franchises.
Despite the absence of an Xbox version, Big Walk has achieved significant commercial success. The title sold over one million copies within one week of its 4th August release. The game is currently available on Mac, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, and PS5.
