Developer Funselektor Labs released the exploration-focused driving game Over the Hill for PC via Steam on October 15. The title supports both solo play and online cooperative multiplayer for up to four players, tasking users with navigating vast natural landscapes.

Players operate vehicles inspired by four-wheel drive models from the 1960s to the 80s, traversing forests, lakes, and mountains. Unlike traditional racing games, the focus is on discovery and exploration. Mechanics include using equipment like winches to navigate steep slopes or recover from getting stuck, and collaborating with others during multiplayer sessions.

The game features a progression system where finding landmarks or overcoming difficult terrain rewards players with in-game currency and unlocks for vehicle upgrades or tools. These tools include items like bridge-building planks, camping gear, and bells to clear weather. Players can also photograph wildlife and scenery.

Over the Hill has seen a strong reception, reaching a peak of approximately 9700 concurrent players on Steam. User reviews are currently rated as Very Positive, with 92% of about 580 reviews being favorable. Critics note that the game successfully balances accessible controls with authentic vehicle physics, a trait carried over from the developer's previous title, art of rally. The game is available for 2520 yen until October 29, representing a 20% discount.
