Capcom has announced that a generous Prologue demo for Monster Hunter Wilds will launch on the Switch 2 on 19th October. This trial period precedes the full release of the title on the platform, which is scheduled for 4th December.
The demo allows players to experience the game's opening segments up to the start of Chapter 1-3. Users can utilize all 14 weapon types and access the character creator, with save data carrying over to the final version of the game.
A unique feature for the Switch 2 version is the inclusion of local multiplayer, enabling nearby users to participate in co-op hunts. While the demo is otherwise offline-only, this local functionality offers a distinct advantage over the PC, PS5, and Xbox versions.
According to the author, Capcom has addressed initial performance and difficulty criticisms through consistent updates. The developer noted that optimizing the game for the hybrid console contributed to improvements across all versions, as the company aims to surpass the popularity of Monster Hunter World.
