Narrative adventure game Beast Barber, developed by Slow Walk and published with assistance from SIGONO, is participating in the Steam October Next Fest. The title focuses on the story of a barber named Fidi who operates a shop in a city populated by animals.
Gameplay centers on listening to clients and performing haircuts. Players must discern customer preferences through dialogue and reactions to provide suitable styles. A central plot point involves a demon appearing in a mirror, offering to alter Fidi's regretful past in exchange for a satisfactory haircut, forcing the protagonist to gather resources and find ways to serve the supernatural visitor.
The developer has refined interaction details and polished the text. To improve the experience for international players, the team added official Korean language support and conducted a comprehensive revision of the Japanese text. Native Japanese speakers were recruited to ensure dialogue, tone, and character expressions feel natural and authentic.
The demo has garnered significant attention, accumulating over 1,000 player reviews on Steam with a 99% positive rating. The Steam Next Fest runs from October 20 at 01:00 to October 27 at 01:00, Taiwan time, during which the demo remains available for download.
